[Solo Exhibition] Kana Arimura, "One Day, We'll Surely Wake from the Dream." @The Artcomplex Center of Tokyo

【個展】有村佳奈(Kana Arimura)「きっといつか夢から醒めてしまうね。」@The Artcomplex Center of Tokyo

I went to The Artcomplex Center of Tokyo in Shinanomachi to see Kana Arimura’s solo exhibition, “One Day, We’ll Surely Wake from the Dream.”

The pink world blooming in full across the entire venue is so dazzling that you’re struck by an almost illusory feeling of having wandered into a young woman’s room.

Look closely, though, and you’ll find something like a poison, or a spice — a distinctive worldview through which you can make out a firm core even amid all that brilliance.

On the canvases where flowers, women, and pink overlap, the rabbit mask makes a striking impression.

Translucent, yet with a matte finish.

Welcome one of these works into your home, and it will radiate such a presence that the harmony of the entire room instantly turns toward it.

A great many works had been prepared, too.

Everyday life, or a world within a dream…

A woman’s point of view, or a man’s…

I got to enjoy them from all sorts of perspectives.

This other solo exhibition, running at the same time, had also changed from how it was in its early days. It’s wonderful how this gallery lets you see so much at once.
