Tokyo University of the Arts 130th Anniversary
I went to see “GEIDAI meets SEIBU/SHIBUYA Arts Affair of GEIDAI,” held at Seibu Shibuya. The announcement doesn’t seem to have spread very well; despite it being a weekend afternoon, the venue was deserted and the buzz was rather underwhelming.
Building B, 1F
The works were displayed across several locations, with each display developed to suit its particular space.
Basically, the works are for sale. And they’re relatively reasonably priced, too.

I think there’s a pleasure in it much like buying futures—discovering promising rough gems with a bright future ahead.
In one corner of the 8th floor, the “PLATINUM SALON” also featured displays by Tokyo University of the Arts graduates Hiroko Otake and Yukimasa Ida.

We present a showcase conveying the “now” of 33 artists who studied at Tokyo University of the Arts, held in partnership with the Seibu Shibuya store, which marks its 50th anniversary of founding.
Beginning with the cutting-edge video and music at Building A’s 1F Art Gate and the A–B Building connecting passage, this is an unprecedented art exhibition woven from everything between interactive artistic expression and the traditional art of crafts. Truly, “GEIDAI meets SEIBU / SHIBUYA.”
