GALLERY Tatsuya
GALLERY Tatsuya is a Nagoya gallery opened in 2003 by its director, Tatsuya Yoshida.
I have not yet had the chance to visit in person, but the gallery seems to take an energetic part in art events around the country.
Tatsukore
“Tatsukore” is an exhibition of works selected by GALLERY Tatsuya, a gallery that brings new young artists to the fore. This marks its first showing at Hikarie.

I visited over the weekend, and the young artists themselves were present in the gallery, enthusiastically explaining their works.

On the Sunday afternoon of the exhibition’s fourth day, many pieces already bore red “sold” stickers, and the space was lively with a large crowd of visitors and artists alike.

Perhaps because the works were priced relatively affordably, many of the visitors seemed to be young.

Maybe it is the nature of a venue like Hikarie, but the audience felt rather different from the crowd you see at an ordinary gallery.

You could clearly sense a firm commitment to supporting young artists — it was the kind of exhibition that makes you want to cheer them on.
