POLA MUSEUM ANNEX Exhibition
The “POLA MUSEUM ANNEX Exhibition” has been held every year to present the results of the studies of those who received the “Grant for Overseas Study by Young Artists,” which the POLA Art Foundation has run since 1996; since it began in 2010, this marks the 13th edition. The total number of grant-supported researchers has reached 342, and the number of participants in the Annex Exhibition now stands at 52.
Although this exhibition has been given the title “Image and Projection,” the works on show were not selected in accordance with these words; rather, the supervisor freely invited four artists to take part, and the works were entrusted to each artist’s own creativity and production. An inexhaustible store of images is accumulated within the human body, yet whether they are matter or not remains a mystery. Once an artist projects them outside the body, however, they clearly come to exist as matter. So what, then, are the images that this matter projects? Our fascination with probing the mystery of each individual artist is inexhaustible.

It gave the impression that each work strongly contained the message its maker wanted to convey.
