Fuma Contemporary Tokyo | Bunkyo Art
The “Fuma Contemporary Tokyo | Bunkyo Art” booth at Art Fair Tokyo 2018 stood out strikingly, I thought, in a spot with heavy foot traffic.

Yukino Oishi
The works by wood-carving artist Yukino Oishi, displayed in one corner of the booth, were hugely popular. They sold out in the early days of the fair.

All of the works are made using zelkova (keyaki) wood, and were reportedly created with the help of a 3D printer as well. Every one of them is a piece carved with wonderful skill.

How wonderful it would be to be able to display wood-carved works like these in one’s home.
Since Yukino Oishi is still a young artist, I found myself thinking that someday, if the timing is right, I’d love to add a piece to my collection.
