Recently I have had a run of occasions to frame photo books and art books.
Unlike canvas works or posters, the tricky part of framing a photo book or art book with a substantial number of pages is that the pages tend to lift, fall open, or otherwise refuse to stay put.

Filmoplast (FILMOPLAST) is originally used as a book-repair tape in libraries around the world.
You apply it like cellophane tape to mend and join the torn paper of a book.
Before application the tape is a highly translucent white, but once applied it blends into the material and turns transparent.
It is a pH-neutral adhesive tape — a thin paper tape with strong adhesion that conforms readily to the unevenness of a work.
Unlike cellophane tape and the like, it “does not yellow with age,” which makes it a superb product you can use with peace of mind.
Beyond repairing torn pages, if you use it to secure the pages of an art book or photo book, everything sits neatly even when framed and the pages never flip open. It is a truly splendid item.
The catch is the high price. It is a premium product that costs as much as 2,700 yen at ordinary retail. Online shops such as Amazon are probably the better deal!
