NAKAMA de ART
I visited “NAKAMA de ART,” a pop-up gallery organized by Shingo Katori.
On the opening day of my visit, Shingo Katori himself, along with all the participating artists, was present in the gallery, making for a lively exhibition.

Takaya Yoshida
As you step inside, there is a zone that stands out all the more, glowing with vivid fluorescent colors. These are the works on display by Takaya Yoshida, an artist who creates sculptures using nothing but fluorescent colors.
Yoshida is a young artist in his mid-twenties. Even within the single category of fluorescent sculpture, the uniqueness of his motifs shines through.
Takaya Yoshida’s works are for sale. Small pieces can be bought from 10,000 yen. Just placing one in your room seems likely to completely transform the air and atmosphere—that’s the kind of presence they have.
Every piece is endearing, and there’s something wonderful about how even tricky fluorescent colors end up looking just right.
Even in the collaborative work painted on the venue’s floor, you’ll be able to spot Takaya Yoshida’s little pieces right away. His true worth seems to come through above all in his distinctive, gekiga-style drawings—that’s the kind of presence he has. He strikes me as an artist with real power.
His originality is such that one glance tells you a work is by Takaya Yoshida; he’ll be impossible to look away from going forward!
