Japan in Architecture: Genealogies of Its Transformation
I visited “Japan in Architecture: Genealogies of Its Transformation,” positioned as the Roppongi Hills / Mori Art Museum 15th anniversary exhibition.
The most recent architecture exhibition I saw and was impressed by was the Tadao Ando show, but this exhibition does not focus on a single artist. Instead, it takes an approach of examining Japanese architecture historically, so its perspective as art felt somewhat thin.

The exhibition takes a head-on approach to unpacking architecture, but the art-oriented elements one might expect from a museum context are sparse, and honestly I found it a rather less engaging show.
