Past Works Edition — Consecutive Solo Shows of Old & New Works
I visited the solo exhibition of Wataru Ozu, a graduate of the O JUN lab at Tokyo University of the Arts. The venue is Bambinart Gallery.
The show is planned as a two-part event covering an earlier and a later period, with past works and the newest works exhibited separately.
This time it is the earlier part — the past-works edition.

Ahead of his new solo show “Kuse, Iro, Katachi (Habit, Color, Form),” this is an exhibition of works produced in 2016-2017.
Many pieces on view here evoke Western-style painting.

Holding an exhibition of past works before showing the new ones — that is surely a sign that the gallery treasures him as an artist with real promise.
The next new-works exhibition is scheduled for October 27 (Sat) – November 11 (Sun), 2018.
The review of the later part is below.
