Chaumet Exhibition
I keep flipping through the catalog of an exhibition I finished visiting a month ago, and I still cannot stop.
The exhibition is the “Chaumet Exhibition” — a historic jewelry brand that has captivated countless women.
Setting aside women, I am a man. Why would someone with no interest in jewelry be so captivated by this exhibition and continue to look at the catalog even after it ended?
The reason is that alongside noticing the beauty of Chaumet that I actually saw, when I turn my thoughts to the effort and craftsmanship of the artisans who came all the way through such a long history, it feels like being immersed in an endless journey — I lose track of time and get pulled into the world of Chaumet. *That said, I have absolutely no interest in the other brands…
It contains countless photos and commentary texts, and it would take an enormous amount of time to see it all.
The total number of pages is “344” — an overwhelming volume.
Personally, I love to put on my favorite music at night, sip a drink, and slowly turn the pages.
I never expected this to become the catalog I have spent the most time holding in 2018. It is a catalog that makes you happy just by looking at it.
Perhaps it is a gift from Chaumet to the common folk who cannot afford to acquire the expensive pieces themselves.
