Selected Art Fair 2018 “Shu-Shu-Shu-Show”
Following on from last year, Selected Art Fair 2018 “Shu-Shu-Shu-Show” is being held once again. The venue is Spiral Garden on the 1st floor of Spiral (Omotesando), which operates under the theme of “the fusion of life and art.”
The fair focuses on “the joy of collecting” and “the appeal of collections,” presenting and selling a wide range of “beautiful things” — high-quality fine art, antiques, books, and craft — selected by leading tastemakers of the creative world and by galleries at the forefront of the contemporary art scene.

The title carries the meaning that this is a business, and a show, run by the crowd (shu = tastemakers and collectors) who enjoy collecting. This fair is enjoyable for everyone from beginners to seasoned collectors — please experience the joy of finding and acquiring your own personal treasure from this genre-crossing, beautiful chaos.
Works on display and for sale
Here is a preview of some of the works on display and for sale. Right from the start, we have something amazing — a piece by Leandro Erlich. Doesn’t it look familiar?

Wait… I recall seeing a similar work at this solo exhibition…
Next, O JUN. One well-known artist after another.

World-renowned artists such as Alvar Aalto are also part of the lineup.

You can also see works by Aiko Tezuka for free.

Oiva Toikka’s glass works look amazing even in photographs.

Ai Yamaguchi appears to be exhibiting again this year, following last year.

Rest assured, the works on show range widely from top-tier pieces to affordable ones.
This is not an event where you are obliged to make a purchase. Simply encountering a large number of works will help train your eye for art.
The fair runs in two sessions: first and second. I plan to visit as well!
