Chiharu Yakushigawa
I visited the solo exhibition of Chiharu Yakushigawa. The venue was Gallery Kunimatsu Aoyama.
Chiharu Yakushigawa is an artist based in Kyoto. Her works are abstract paintings, and are fundamentally structured around the rule of the “pair”.
The work that left the strongest impression was the following.

Besides the above work, 10 pieces from the series “Drawings with the Right and Left Hands” were on display.
This series consists of drawings on paper made with two different colors of paint applied to the right and left hands.

It looks as though two different existences are mingling in the same space — as if expressing the world and the phenomena around us.
