[Solo Show] The Artist of Color — Manika Nagare, "Where Colors Land" @ Yuka Tsuruno Gallery

I visited Manika Nagare’s solo exhibition “Where Colors Land.”
The venue is “Yuka Tsuruno Gallery” in Tennozu.

Manika Nagare is often called an “artist of color.” For this solo show, she presented works built up by layering the colors of historically significant paintings, coat upon coat.
The photograph below, for example, is Monet’s masterpiece “Water Lily Pond.”

Sanzo Wada’s “South Wind” is also transformed into a work like this. Deep, indeed.
