I visited Enrico Isamu Oyama’s solo exhibition “Black,” the first exhibition held after Takuro Someya Contemporary Art relocated to TERRADA Art Complex (Higashi-Shinagawa).

This exhibition comprises eight paintings in total: three large works including 《FFIGURATI #162》 and 《FFIGURATI #163》, plus five new works of small and medium size.

Large works making good use of the gallery space were on display.

Enrico Isamu Oyama’s paintings are grounded in a monotone world centered on white and black.

He develops a motif called the “Quick Turn Structure.” It’s a shape you’ve never seen, and you end up pondering its meaning for a while. A beautiful form.

The works are large and overwhelming.
With extraordinary art before my eyes, it was as if I was bathing in stimulating energy.
