I visited the solo exhibition of Spanish artist Javier Calleja. The venue is the Shibuya gallery NANZUKA, and this is said to be his first solo exhibition in Japan.
As you can see from the works, the world they present is animation-like and shares affinities with Yoshitomo Nara’s universe, unfolding an approachable and inviting atmosphere. In particular, the installation set within NANZUKA gallery’s spacious room was outstanding.
