The Metamorphosis
I visited “The Metamorphosis,” a project by two sculptors held at the gallery “EUKARYOTE” in Gaienmae.
The sculptors are Gensho Sugawara and Naohiro Takahashi.
Gallery EUKARYOTE, which invited these two contrasting sculptors, staged a display in which their works dizzyingly intersected from the 1st to the 3rd floor.
Naohiro Takahashi, who leaves rough carving marks, and Gensho Sugawara, whose slick, slippery texture is emotional—each of their works asserts its own presence as an independent work while also intersecting their mutual relationships, and I enjoyed viewing them.

The energy each work holds was strong, with a real sense of presence.
A dense space was in command.
