I visited OKETA COLLECTION “LOVE @ FIRST SIGHT,” a collection exhibition by collectors Mr. and Mrs. Oketa, held at Spiral Garden in Omotesando.

This is the first exhibition in which the Oketa Collection has been publicly shown. On the very first day of the run, I visited the venue with great anticipation.

The Oketas own many works in their collection, but the pieces on view for this exhibition were weighted toward large-scale works, and the pieces displayed in the vast space of Spiral seemed to be relishing the room.

The title “LOVE @ FIRST SIGHT” means love at first sight. The Oketa Collection is a body of works gathered under this keyword. About twenty works were on display in this exhibition.

The intention of the exhibition, according to the Oketas, is to spark an interest in art among young people through the display of works from their collection.
Cards containing a link to the Oketa Collection Instagram account were being distributed at the venue.

It was a collection exhibition that made you feel the Oketas’ love and passion for art.
For me, as a collector, it turned into a viewing experience that stirred the desire to take on the challenge of larger works.
Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Oketa!
