Mikako Kawai “The Never-Ending Letter”
We visited Mikako Kawai’s solo exhibition “The Never-Ending Letter.” The venue is LADS GALLERY, located about a 15-minute walk from The National Museum of Art, Osaka.

We had been interested in Mikako Kawai’s work ever since seeing it at Gallery Mizusai in Kuramae.

Our impression had been that many of her works used ceramics, but this exhibition was centered on drawing works with paper as the support. Along with changes in her living environment, her production style also seems to be evolving.
The soft, warm quality of the three-dimensional works overlapped in our minds with the artist’s own bright, cheerful character, making for a memorable viewing experience.
