2019 Kaikai Kiki Summer Show
We visited the group exhibition “2019 Kaikai Kiki Summer Show” featuring artists represented by Kaikai Kiki Gallery. The venue was, of course, Kaikai Kiki Gallery.
Chiho Aoshima is an artist with a wide range of expressive media, including paintings, sculptures, and video works. For this show, she presented ceramic works featuring living plants arranged within them.
These works feature the charming young girl characters that are a hallmark of Aoshima’s oeuvre, painted onto the ceramic pieces.
Aoshima’s exhibitions are relatively rare, and I found myself wishing I could also see her two-dimensional works such as drawings.
