TAV GALLERY 5th Anniversary Exhibition “MID CORE”
I visited “MID CORE,” TAV GALLERY’s 5th anniversary exhibition.
Held in the unique setting of Asagaya, this show is a group exhibition by 21 artists (and artist units) that symbolizes the gallery’s trajectory to date.

Fitting 21 artists into a limited space must have taken considerable planning for the install.
Large sculptural works, multiple video pieces, big-canvas paintings — the show overflowed with as many modes of expression as it had participating artists.

TAV GALLERY is a contemporary art gallery in Asagaya. Since its opening in 2014, it has actively taken up the signs of newly emerging currents, holding as its mission to be a platform for uncharted forms of expression and the people who generate them.
With director Eisuke Sato still in his twenties, the five years accumulated so far are only a prelude.
TAV GALLERY walks its stated mission — “a platform for uncharted forms of expression and the people who generate them” — head-on.
I plan to keep following it closely.
