We visited a solo exhibition by Korean painter Hyeong-Tae Moon. The venue is the Ginza gallery “SH ART PROJECT.” This marks Moon’s second solo exhibition at the gallery.

His technique uses yellow sand as a base ground on canvas, painted over with oils. Because the sand forms the base, the works appear to have added depth. The brushes reportedly wear out very quickly.

With a few exceptions, all works were priced uniformly at 120,000 yen. A unique pricing strategy that ignores size.
