Yu Kawashima Japanese Painting Exhibition — vice versa —
Yu Kawashima’s works are known for their portraits of women with unsettling expressions, but this exhibition also included a few pieces with gentler faces. In the works where the woman’s gaze is directed toward the viewer, that startling look feels almost as if it could carry your soul away.
Where are Kawashima’s works headed…? — I always find myself pondering this question. Imagining something at the far end of the world, I fall into an endless loop that has no answer.
