9 Eyes — 9 Artists
The “Hikarie Contemporary Art Eye” series, supervised by gallerist Tomio Koyama, is a program that opens up the Japanese art scene from new perspectives. Its 13th edition is an exhibition of artists currently drawing attention, chosen by nine people — artists, curators, and art collectors.
Each artist was chosen through the perspective of an artist creating art, the perspective of a curator building exhibitions and approaching history, and the perspective of an art collector who finds joy in seeing works and reaffirms his or her own position by owning them — each from their own standpoint, their own taste, and their own will.
