We visited Daniel Arsham’s solo exhibition “Relics of Kanto Through Time.” The venue is the Shibuya gallery NANZUKA.

The show, a collaboration with Pokémon, presents the world of “Pokémon Red & Green” as if excavated in the year 3020.
The exhibition consists of three-dimensional works made from a variety of materials — pyrite, selenite, volcanic ash, glass, obsidian, ice rock, quartz — including a fossilized statue of Pikachu whose interior reveals crystal formations.
The originals appear to have been produced in three color variations each. All the works were, it seems, immediately sold out.

The two-color CRYSTALIZED PIKACHU editions — white and blue — were made available through a lottery-based sale. The edition was limited to 500 each, and the sale price was 300,000 yen (tax included). Colors could not be chosen.
