nine colors XIV
We visited “nine colors XIV,” an exhibition organized by Seibu Shibuya, which actively presents up-and-coming artists.
Now in its 14th edition, this group exhibition brings together nine artists who pursue two-dimensional expression.

Among the nine energetic young artists on view, Iori Nagashima drew particular attention. All eight of his works on display sold out on the opening day.

Iori Nagashima is a young artist who recently graduated from Musashino Art University and also works as an assistant in Yukimasa Ida’s studio.

His painting style feels somewhat influenced by Yukimasa Ida, but perhaps with a degree of self-awareness he uses board rather than canvas as his support, hinting at a certain distance from his mentor.

Still in his early twenties, he is a young artist we look forward to watching closely as he continues to develop his painting practice.
