Ikuo Inada “Night by Night”

I visited Ikuo Inada’s solo exhibition “Night by Night.”
The venue is MEDEL GALLERY SHU on the 2nd floor of the Imperial Hotel Plaza.

Born in 1986, Ikuo Inada is a wood-carving artist who completed the doctoral program at Tokyo University of the Arts.

Inada’s works finely render soft motifs such as blankets, cushions, and down jackets.
The grain of the wood holds warmth, softness, and beauty all at once, captivating the viewer.

His highly skilled, representational wood-carving works are said to draw much attention from overseas collectors as well.
I’ll be watching his future work closely.
