Takeo Deguchi & Tomoki Kodama “Summon”
I visited the two-person exhibition “Summon” by Takeo Deguchi and Tomoki Kodama.
The venue was Shibuya Hikarie 8/COURT.
Takeo Deguchi, who works in the field of fashion, and Tomoki Kodama, who works in the field of fine art, are two artists who share a life together.
The title of this exhibition, “Summon,” means to call forth. The concept of the show has three large-scale triptychs “summoning” works that depict the two artists’ daily life.
Considering the venue had been prepared after being approached just one month before the opening, it was hard to believe how densely the space was filled with substantial works.
What left an especially strong impression was the triptych featuring queens at the center of the exhibition.
