Francesca Blomfield “Daisies”
We visited British artist Francesca Blomfield’s solo exhibition “Daisies.” The venue is the artist-run space “2x2x2 (twobytwobytwo)”.
2x2x2 by imlabor is a gallery run by two artists, and the space also normally serves as their atelier.
Its name comes from the 2m x 2m window facing the street, but it is more often referred to as “im labor.”
Francesca Blomfield’s solo show came about through the connection that one of the artists running the space was her classmate at a British art university.
Francesca Blomfield is a British contemporary artist based in London.
She primarily makes wood-carved sculptures evocative of the reliefs of Baroque architecture, along with intricately rendered, almost cipher-like drawings and paintings that combine decorative imagery with text.
The show centered on new works featuring wood-carved sculpture and drawings.

Although this space limits its promotional activity to updating its Instagram and official website, works are exhibited for sale, making it an appealing art space with a gallery-like dimension as well.
Note that it is open only Thursdays through Saturdays.
