Tatsuo Miyajima “Chronicle 1995-2020”
I visited “Chronicle 1995-2020,” a solo exhibition by Tatsuo Miyajima, who is internationally acclaimed for his works using LED (light-emitting diode) digital counters. The venue is the Chiba City Museum of Art.
This exhibition is a retrospective looking back on the 25 years from 1995 to 2020.
Changing Time / Changing Art (2020), a work made to cover pieces by five renowned artists — On Kawara, Natsuyuki Nakanishi, Kumi Sugai, Lee Ufan, and Hiroshi Sugimoto — left a particularly strong impression.

In the Sayado Hall on the 1st floor
The show was a retrospective of Miyajima’s 25 years of activity.
Beyond the LED works, it foregrounded video pieces that make the viewer sharply aware of time.
