Yuichi Hirako “GIFT”
I visited Yuichi Hirako’s solo exhibition “GIFT,” his first in Japan in about a year.
The venue is the Tennoz gallery KOTARO NUKAGA.

This exhibition marks his first solo show since transferring to a new representing gallery. Visitors are greeted by a striking exhibition space filled with monumental works that hold their own against the gallery — including a large painting roughly 6 m wide and 2.6 m tall, and a huge sculpture about 2.7 m in height.

An exhibition in which the scale of the works and their surging energy are fully realized.
It was a magnificent solo exhibition composed of a space that let you feel that sense of scale, the power of the works themselves, and a variety of pieces that further extend his singular worldview.
The works sold out at the pre-show list stage. There were apparently many inquiries from overseas collectors as well.
The show gave a strong sense of his orientation toward expanding globally.
I could feel the promise of an artist about to take flight into the world.
