Art Basel Hong Kong 2021
The 2020 edition of Art Basel Hong Kong was forced to be cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the 2021 edition, held in a hybrid format together with an online presence, we bring you a photo report of opening day from our correspondents on-site.
Near the venue entrance
The opening day was limited to press and VIP guests, ahead of general admission.
The number of participating galleries was limited to “104,” and while the crowds were not as thick as in previous years, press check-in still took up to an hour, suggesting that this long-awaited return of the art fair drew a certain excitement.
