Adrian Ghenie Drawing Exhibition, PACE Seoul
I visited the drawing exhibition by Adrian Ghenie, which opened during Frieze Seoul.
This is Ghenie’s first solo exhibition in Asia, making it a particularly noteworthy show. The venue is the second and third floors of Pace Gallery Seoul.
Adrian Ghenie is a painter born in 1977 in Romania, currently based in Berlin, Germany.
Rather than his signature paintings, this exhibition consists solely of charcoal drawings.
Although these are drawings, up close the brushwork conveys tremendous energy, making for a powerful body of work.
At the gallery I visited the following month during Frieze London, I was also able to view many of his paintings.
