I visited Thaddaeus Ropac Seoul, which the mega-gallery Thaddaeus Ropac newly opened in 2021.
An Anselm Kiefer solo exhibition was on view during my visit.
As it happened to coincide with Frieze Seoul and KIAF, the space was filled with international visitors.
The space was expansive and welcoming, and Kiefer’s works were nothing short of overwhelming.
Watching mega-galleries of this caliber move into Seoul one after another made me, from a Japanese vantage point, deeply envious.
