Frieze Seoul 2022 Atsushi Kaga Solo Presentation
At Frieze Seoul 2022, the first Asian edition of the fair, Atsushi Kaga held a solo presentation.

Atsushi Kaga has two mother galleries, and this solo-format presentation was staged at the joint booth of Maho Kubota Gallery and mother’s tankstation.
Right after doors opened at 2 pm on the first day of the VIP preview, the booth was thronged by collectors, all reaching out to the gallerists to inquire about the works on view.

Perhaps intending to expand the collector base in Korea, the works were sold on a first-come-first-served basis on-site, and lucky collectors were able to acquire some rare pieces. Even so, everything reportedly sold out within an hour.

Atsushi Kaga himself was not present at the booth, but many visitors gathered to photograph the works with their phones, and the booth remained lively throughout.

The Alex Group
Composed under the guidance of David, a gallerist from mother’s tankstation, the ten-piece work The Alex Group is a strongly narrative piece and quintessentially Atsushi Kaga.

Atsushi Kaga, who has now gained a global following.
In October, another solo exhibition will open at mother’s tankstation in London — one we will certainly be keeping an eye on.
