“Vino della Gatta SAKAKI,” a restaurant run by the winery “Sakaki Winery.”
It’s located about an hour by Shinano Railway from Karuizawa Station or Shinano-Oiwake Station.
The views from the train window are also wonderful, so anyone who enjoys train travel is sure to be satisfied with the journey.
“Vino della Gatta SAKAKI” is a fine restaurant that wine lovers can’t resist—just what you’d expect from a place run by a winery that wants to serve wines that pair with its food. This time I visited for lunch in early March.

Inside the restaurant
The top cuvée, “Vino della Gatta,” is a wine whose label was designed by contemporary artist Miwa Komatsu, and the original artwork is also displayed inside the restaurant.
