June Art Fair
June Art Fair is an international art fair founded in 2019 and held annually in Basel.
Compared to the average art fair, this one is smaller in scale, comprising about 15 galleries.
The concrete bunker where June Art Fair takes place was originally built as a military facility and is now being repurposed as an art fair venue. Such facilities possess a distinctive atmosphere and historical background, offering a special spatial staging for the display of art.
As for the tendencies of the works, there were sculptures and video works, but paintings seemed to dominate.
The atmosphere made it easy to strike up conversations with the gallerists, making it an art fair with a close sense of connection to the galleries.
