Baxter

Baxter is a luxury furniture brand founded in 1989 in Brianza, Italy.
Through its dedication to fine leather, contemporary designs born from collaborations with designers, and outstanding craftsmanship, it has established its status as a sofa brand.

Baxter’s products pursue a fusion of the beauty of materials and artisanal skill, earning high acclaim for both design and quality. Thanks to this distinctive approach, they have been adopted by luxury hotels and celebrity residences around the world, creating luxurious spaces.

Baxter operates a showroom called “Baxter Cinema,” a renovated former cinema in central Milan. *Please see the article below.

Meanwhile, on the shores of Lake Como in Italy, it also owns a villa called “La Casa Sul Lago,” which it runs as a special showroom.

Baxter purchased this privately owned residence and reconstructed it as a space that embodies the brand’s worldview.
Using the entire residence, refined Baxter furniture and interiors are arranged, with the aim of letting visitors experience the brand’s appeal with all five senses. In the future, there are apparently plans to also operate it as a hotel where guests can stay.

Visits during regular operation are said to be by reservation, but during Milan Design Week only a limited number of invited guests may enter. It was a precious opportunity.

The exhibition event that Baxter holds at its villa “La Casa sul Lago” on the shores of Lake Como is open to the public by full reservation every year from March to October.
The exhibition starts in time for Milan Design Week (usually mid-April) and reportedly stays open afterward. After it closes in October, renovation work to completely renew the interior is carried out again, and it reopens the following year in the same period as a new project—apparently running on this cycle.

Making abundant use of high-contrast tones—rhubarb (reddish purple), terracotta, beige, green—while still achieving a warm and elegant atmosphere. The views from each room staged a fusion of nature and design. Being able to stay in such an extraordinary space was a wonderful experience.
